Why choose TR/T in ADF? 

 

 

Training Process

With all trade jobs in ADF, the Initial Minimum Period of Service (IMPS) is six years. Approximately the first two years of this period will be devoted to training. The following diagram shows the three stages of the training process. After the training, you will be considered fully qualified.

 

 

 

Expected Payment

One of the key benefits of the TR/T path is that the payment is reasonably well even in the training period.

 

 

Categories of Trade

There are many kinds of TR/T job available in Australian Army, Navy and Air Force. Typical traditional jobs are electrician, carpenter, plumber, mechanic and so on. There are also non-traditional high tech jobs such as telecommunications technician, metalsmith and marine technician.

YOU Session test is an aptitude test which is sat by ALL applicants to ADF. Threshold minimum scores are required for various job categories. The failure rate can be as high as 80%.
