Paramedics


 

OVERVIEW

In NSW, applicants with no prior medical experience are offered education and training at a on-site Ambulance Education Centre following by practical on-road training. Successful graduates are awarded a nationally recognised Diploma qualification. 

In QLD, the initial training is undertaken in the form of a six week in-service block at the Queensland Combined Emergency Services Academy. Following successful completion of the six week block, Student Paramedics begin working on-road under the supervision of a Paramedic Mentor.

For the position of qualified paramedics, Diploma of Paramedical Science (Ambulance) or higher is required. Applicant also need to have a manual driver’s licence and the ability to work in Australia.
